The variations are all similar to each other in style, and the only noticeable differences are usually the location of his arm sleeves and the coloring of individual clothing pieces. He is usually seen wearing his performance headset, even if he is not on-stage singing, although sometimes the microphone is not attached to the headset. This is a picture of Lupe smoldering. As far as body art goes, Lupe has his lucky number “03” tattooed in red on his left upper arm. If he’s feeling particularly flamboyant, Lupe paints his fingernails teal. Lupe’s clothing style tends to be on the more flashy and flamboyant side. This is most likely due to his extremely extroverted personality. Lupe always goes out of his way to interact with and please other people, including his fans. Among his family, friends, and fans, Lupe is a well-known flirt who isn’t afraid to publicly woo both his female and male fans. In fact, Lupe rather enjoys the flirting, and wouldn’t hesitate to toy with a cute boy he had just made his acquaintance with. Lupe is a dreamer and an optimist, constantly fantasizing about possibilities in the future and bouncing back from any hardships that may come his way. Colombian poverty is characterized as some of the worst in Latin America. High levels of unemployment, illiteracy, malnutrition, inequality, and the current economic recession have all contributed to worsening Colombian poverty. As a result, Lupe’s living conditions were abysmal. Sickness was abundant, for the streets were strewn with human waste and trash. The nights were cold, for there was no air conditioning and Lupe’s family could only afford one blanket to share. Hopelessness was a common—and understandable—trait among those living in the slums of Bogotá; one exception happened to be little Lupe. Lupe loved to dream. Every night, the small boy would sit on his mother’s lap and sing to her, per her request. His mother loved to hear Lupe sing; she always said his voice was like an angel’s, and she told Lupe that his voice was a gift from God. He would sing to her: Eres mi madre, Y soy tu hijo. Siempre te amaré, Te abrazaré estrechamente. No importa lo que viene a nuestra manera, Siempre tendremos el uno del otro. Eres mi madre, Y soy tu hijo. (You are my mother, And I am your son. I will always love you, I will hug you tightly. No matter what comes our way, We will always have each other. You’re my mother, And I am your son.) One night after Lupe had finished singing, his mother took him to the window of their shanty, and pointed to the brightest star in the sky. She said, << Lupe, ¿ves esa estrella? Esa estrella es tu estrella; la use para lograr tus sueños.>> (“Lupe, do you see that star? That star is your star; use it to achieve your dreams.”) So when his mother had fallen asleep with the rest of his family, Lupe looked to his star through the window and wished: <<Dios…¿está allí? Tengo un sueño…por favor, quiero todo el mundo a oír mi voz. Ese es mi deseo. Amen.>> (“God…are you there? I have a dream…please, I want the whole world to hear my voice. That is my wish. Amen.”) The child, after finishing his prayer, scrambled back to where his family was sleeping together, his strawberry-blond hair the only thing showing from beneath the single raggedy blanket. While Lupe’s relationship with his mother was healthy and nurturing, his relationship with his father was anything but. Lupe’s father rarely came home, and when he did he was drunk and depressed. Lupe, the oldest child of his family, would sit with his younger siblings and shield their eyes as his father argued with his mother, which always progressed into beating and abuse. Upon his father’s angry departure, Lupe and his siblings would gather around their mother and hug her as they wept together in silence. One day, when Lupe was about eleven, he stood up for his mother. This outraged Lupe’s father, and from that point on Lupe was abused alongside his mother. This was how it was for a good two years; and then, Lupe turned thirteen. His father came home one night, drunk as usual. However, as he began to argue with his wife, Lupe finally snapped. The pink-haired boy intervened yet again, but this time he transformed into the Valkyrie Skirt out of sheer adrenaline. Seeing red, the Colombian boy lashed out a blade at his father, leaving a large gash across his father’s thigh. Lupe’s father let loose a single scream, and then left their home immediately, limping away as fast as he could. He never returned after that night. About two weeks later, Lupe’s mother took him into town, the wealthy part of Bogotá. After a long day of searching for someone to listen to her, Lupe’s mother eventually gave up and was about to head back home with Lupe when a strange man approached the two Colombians. He introduced himself as a teacher from the Death Weapon Meister Academy in America, and told them that he could tell that Lupe was a weapon by his soul. Lupe’s mother, a little taken aback, put her hands on Lupe’s shoulders and looked him in the eye. She told him to never forget about his dreams, and promised him that one day she will see him again. The kind woman embraced her son, and then informed the strange man to take her son and help him become a strong and influential human being. The man agreed, placing a protective arm around the tearful but understanding Lupe. Soon after, Lupe and his mother parted and went their separate ways. From that moment on, Lupe’s life changed drastically. He was enrolled in the DWMA as a student weapon, and he trained hard and learned from some of the best teachers available. Lupe even landed a record deal with a music company, and before long Lupe had become an international sensation, travelling and performing in concerts all over the world. Unfortunately he never found a meister compatible with his complicated weapon form, but that was the least of his worries. What was the main source of Lupe’s distress was back home in the slums of Bogotá. Eventually Lupe, using some of the money he had made from his singing career, was able to track down his family and find them. What he found upon returning to Colombia—now as a seventeen-year-old— was horrible. His mother was incredibly sick and dying in her home; all of Lupe’s siblings were gathered around her, some crying and some stone-faced. Lupe ran to her side and clasped her hand in his. Lupe’s mother smiled, telling her child how much he had grown. Holding back tears, Lupe told his mother how his dreams had come true, and it was all because of her. She shook her head, responding that it was all Lupe’s doing, not hers. Coughing as her last moments approached, Lupe’s mother stared adoringly into her son’s sky blue eyes as she spoke her final words: <<Mi hijo…mi hijo bello…estoy tan orgulloso de tú. Dios ha contestado mis oraciones…>> (“My son…my beautiful son…I am so proud of you. God has answered my prayers…”) With that said, Lupe’s mother fell asleep for the last time in her eldest son’s arms, a gentle smile upon her lips. Lupe sobbed uncontrollably as he held his dear mother close to his heart, rocking her back and forth as he sung to her one last time: Eres mi madre, Y soy tu hijo. Currently, Lupe is living happily in a small mansion in Death City, caring for his little brothers and sisters. His beloved mother, Anita De La Cruz, is buried back in Colombia at the top of a peaceful hill. Her final resting place is beneath the shelter of a large and old tree, and written on her grave are the lyrics to her and Lupe’s song of everlasting love. This weapon is a multi-purpose scythe. The Skirt is attached to the upper thighs of the meister by two greenish gray leg braces, and the Skirt is composed of two four-segmented limbs on each leg brace. At the end of each limb there is a scythe-like blade, which is extremely sharp along the bottom and at the tip. By controlling the Skirt with their nervous system, the meister can maneuver the limbs at will. Offensively, the blades can dice, chop, slice, stab, cut, and shred at blinding speeds. Defensively, the Skirt can parry most attacks from any direction, although not all attacks can be stopped by the Skirt. Additionally the Skirt can be used for mobile purposes, similar to how a spider scurries over surfaces and climbs obstacles. However, due to the complexity of the weapon, only a highly skilled meister can use the Skirt to its full extent. Outside of battle, the Valkyrie Skirt’s limbs can fold up for convenience. ⋆ For Lupe’s partial weapon form, he transforms his legs into the four limbs of the Valkyrie Skirt. Due to his body being completely supported by the Skirt’s limbs, Lupe can only attack with one or two of the limbs at a time. Lupe’s partial transformation was very difficult for him to achieve, and it took years at the DWMA to perfect. ★ T E C H N I Q U E S: Due to the dexterity of Lupe's weapon form, there are naturally a variety of techniques his meister can utilize. ⋆ ultimate defense By simply keeping aware of their surroundings, Lupe’s meister can protect themself from most attacks no matter the direction that they come from. However, if the attack is strong and/or fast enough, then there is a higher chance of it breaking though the seemingly “ultimate” defense of the Skirt. ⋆ arachnid mode Lupe’s meister can use the limbs of the Skirt as legs. This allows them to move much faster than usual. The meister’s motions become like a spider’s, jerky and unpredictable. Also, the stabbing nature of the blades permits Lupe’s meister to crawl up steep slopes and across smooth surfaces.
