What are Souls?
Basically, Souls are the OOC currency of Between Order & Madness that allow your character to take on stronger forms or techniques. For instance, if you choose to make a Witch, you could use your souls to buy a new spell. If your character is a Weapon, you could use it to buy him or her a new form.
How do I earn Soul points?
As aforementioned, you earn Souls as you post. Let's say you and a friend have a thread going on that lasts for about 30 posts; you would both earn about 75 souls. The souls are granted automatically (5 souls per post), as it would be much too time-consuming for the staff to stalk your every thread. The other way to earn Souls is through missions or events with rewards. The amount of Souls granted will vary depending on the ranks/difficulty of the objective.

Thread: The thread you're using to train for your new form, spell, ability or whatever. Provide a link for the staff member taking care of you and pretty soon, you'll have your new ability!

Character Name: Alister Crowley
Buying: First New Form - 150 Souls, and 10-15 Post Thread for Training
Roulette Bullet - An alternet full weapon form that bears slight resemblence to Crowley's Gattling Gun but has a more manageble shape. The Death Scythe's alternet form takes the shape of a three barreled shotgun which once the trigger is drawn the barrels revolve; aligning a different barrel with the chamber for each shot. The barrels move the same number of times the trigger is pulled so if it is pulled twice then Alister will fire a shot, change barrels, shoot, and then change again until the trigger is pulled once more.

Either before or after you spend your Souls, there is one more thing you have to do before you can actually utilize what you've purchased: you have to have a training thread in which your character earns their new form, ability, or spell. You can create the thread either before or after you hit the required Souls amount, but you must do this when you decide to buy something. The requirement for these threads vary depending on whether or not you're a student: due to experience, non-DWMA characters will only have to do a 10 post training thread. Meanwhile, due to the inexperience of students, they will have to do a 15 post training thread in order to learn the new technique they've bought. During this thread a staffer may NPC a teacher or witness to aid and/or watch your character train. You may also choose to have your character's partner do this, or even go it alone. Whatever way your prefer, the staff will keep an eye on the thread to make sure that it's done and done right. Take a hint from the series: when doing your training threads, your character has to learn to control and manipulate their wavelength to get the desired outcome.
